On Thanksgiving day, 20 Grandmothers, Mothers, and Daughters arrived at Nishmat for a unique textual learning experience as part of their Emunah Bat Mitzvah Mission, led by U.S. Yoetzet Halacha Lisa Septimus. The girls toured Nishmat's bet midrash and then participated in a multigenerational text study and shiur. Nishmat faculty member Debbie Zimmerman facilitated their study and focused the class on the attributes of our foremother Rivka, as described in the week's Torah portion, Chayei Sara. Debbie emphasized that Rivka was chosen because of her chessed, and her ability to see the needs of others, and go above and beyond to fulfill them. Lisa, and mother Sandy Seligsohn, are both AFN board members. After the class, they and daughter Lea, were greated by Rabbanit Henkin. Sandy remarked, "What a great class. Debbie has such a lovely was about her and was able to connect to the girls. Thank you"
