Our Campus

Our campus is a beautiful building located in Jerusalem. Our Beit Midrash is the core of our midrasha, located on the bottom floor, right below the dormitory and classrooms. Our rooftop garden boasts a breathtaking panoramic view of Yerushalayim, and beautiful, serene gardens on the ground level are a popular spot for learning and relaxing.

"I really love the Liba campus. I think it’s really cute and homey."

Apartments – A Home Away From Home

Liba students dorm in modern two-bedroom apartments on the Nishmat campus with 2-3 girls assigned to each room, and you can choose your ideal level of integration with students of other on-campus programs. Do you want to room with other Liba students, or would you prefer Israeli roommates? Israeli roommates fluent in English, or roommates who will challenge you to work on your Hebrew? It’s up to you Each apartment is equipped with a kitchenette, full bathroom and everything you need to feel right at home.

Food

As a Liba student, you’re provided two meals a day:  daily hot lunch, plus  breakfast or dinner, depending on programming.

For the remaining meals, our students enjoy cooking delicious meals together in the fully equipped kitchens in the Nishmat dorms.

Don’t know how to cook? No worries! We provide monthly cooking lessons with staff members to help you widen your culinary skills.

Neighborhood

Nishmat is located in the Pat neighborhood, a quiet, residential neighborhood in southern Jerusalem. Take a short walk, and you can find shopping centers, restaurants, a running track, and more.  Nearby buses will take you to Jerusalem city center and other fun locations throughout the city.

"Something that I have particularly enjoyed being in Nishmat is its closeness to so many different locations in Jerusalem. If you’re a walker, you can walk to the Kotel. If you’re not a walker, there’s a bus station right across the street. Which makes using transportation super easy for someone like me who had never used public transport in their life. The grocery stores are all nearby and there’s lending libraries you can just walk to and take books for Shabbos. It just feels like a very welcoming area."

Shabbatot

We spend Shabbat together in an official capacity twice a month. One Shabbat a month is a special Liba Shabbaton, where you get the opportunity to visit communities around Israel. The other programmed Shabbat is a midrasha-wide Shabbat on campus, withall of the other programs at Nishmat. On other, non-scheduled Shabbatot, you are free to visit friends, family, or to spend Shabbat with a member of the Nishmat faculty or student body. Our extensive support system is there to help you make Shabbat plans.

"A definite highlight for me was the first Shabbat that we were in the Midrasha. The whole seminary, everyone together, gathered on the roof for Kabbalat Shabbat and we all sang together while the sun set over Jerusalem. It was something really special."
