Rav Kobi Gigi is a Ram at Nishmat, where he has taught Talmud and Halacha since 2015. He also teaches at Migdal Oz. Rav Kobi is an alumnus of Yeshivat Har Etzion and has smicha from the Chief Rabbinate of Israel.

Rav Yoel Bin Nun, PhD |

Rav Yoel Bin Nun, PhD., who teaches Tanach at Nishmat, is among the most influential and innovative Torah educators in the world. His scholarship and teaching have contributed greatly to the flowering of Tanach study in yeshivot. Rav Bin Nun was among the founders of Yeshivat Har Etzion. In 1986, he established Michlelet Yaakov Herzog for training Jewish Studies teachers, especially in Tanach instruction. Between 2000-2006 he served as the Rosh Ha-Yeshiva of Yeshivat HaKibbutz HaDati in Ein Tzurim. He has published many books and articles on topics within Tanach, some of which are available on websites including HaTanakh.com and 929.org.il. He was among those who fought in the Six-Day War to recapture the Old City of Jerusalem. Rav Bin Nun received his rabbinic training at Yeshivat Merkaz HaRav and his Ph.D. from Hebrew University.

Rabbanit Ilana Hadad |

Ilana Hadad is a graduate of Nishmat’s Keren Ariel Yoatzot Halachic Fellowship Institute, holds a Master’s degree in Bible from Bar Ilan University, and studied Tanach at Matan. She is Talmud Teacher and “Ramit” of Shiur Aleph Israeli students at Nishmat. Russian-born Ilana became observant during her army service in Israel. Ilana has taught at Harel, a pre-military program for Israeli immigrants from the former Soviet Union. She brings a lively curiosity and a unique blend of backgrounds to her teaching, which enrich her students.

Rabbanit Neima Novetsky |

Rabbanit Neima Novetsky, who teaches Tanach at Nishmat, has been involved in Jewish education for close to 20 years. She has taught in a number of seminaries and educational institutes in both the U.S. and Jerusalem, and is the co-founder of alhatorah.org, a Tanach and Parshanut website which provides Tanach study resources for use in the home, classroom and synagogue. Neima holds a BA in Religion and a Certification in Language and Culture from Princeton University and an MA in Bible from Bernard Revel Graduate School of Yeshiva University.

Rav Mendel Blachman |

Rav Mendel Blachman, a veteran Nishmat faculty member and Ram at Kerem B’Yavneh, studied at Yeshivat Chevron and in Kollel Pachad Yitzchak with Rav Hutner. His classes delve deeply into the thought of medieval thinkers such as Rambam and Ramban, as well as contemporary issues in emunah. In addition to teaching, Rav Blachman devotes time every week to discussing religious questions and broad life issues with individual students.

Simi Peters |

Simi Peters has taught Tanach and Midrash at Nishmat for over 25 years. She is the author of the acclaimed Learning to Read Midrash (Urim Publications, 2004) and also teaches at Matan’s Bellows-Eshkolot Educator’s Program. Simi has been involved in adult Jewish education, educational consulting, and teacher education since making aliyah 40 years ago. Her areas of special expertise are Tanach, Midrash and Parshanut. Simi has a Master’s Degree in Linguistics from the Graduate Center of CUNY.
